Sweeney Miller strengthens property team
North East law firm Sweeney Miller Law has strengthened its commercial property team with the appointment of Lydia Armstrong as senior associate.
Based at the firm’s Sunderland office, Lydia brings more than ten years’ experience in commercial property law, having previously practised at a transatlantic law firm.
Lydia said: “I’m delighted to have joined Sweeney Miller Law at such an exciting time for the firm.
“Having spent more than ten years working within a large transatlantic law firm, I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to my new role and working alongside the team to support our commercial property clients across the region and beyond.”
Lydia’s appointment adds further senior-level expertise to Sweeney Miller's growing commercial property practice as the firm continues to invest in its specialist legal services.
It follows a series of internal promotions earlier this year, including Matthew Smith’s progression to senior associate and Shahar Sadat's appointment as associate solicitor.
With offices in Sunderland and Newcastle, Sweeney Miller has been expanding its teams across several practice areas following a period of sustained year-on-year revenue growth.
The firm is combining external recruitment with the development of existing staff as part of its wider growth strategy.
Lydia’s arrival marks the latest step in those plans, strengthening the commercial property team's capacity to support clients across the North East and beyond.
Jess Fenwick, senior partner and head of corporate and commercial, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Lydia to Sweeney Miller Law.
“She brings a wealth of commercial property experience, which will be a real asset to both our team and our clients.
“Lydia’s appointment further strengthens the depth of experience within our commercial property team and supports our ambition to build on the strong reputation we have established in this area.”
