Tees appoints medical negligence director
Law firm Tees, headquartered in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, has strengthened its medical negligence team with the appointment of Louise Tyler as legal director.
Louise brings more than 30 years’ experience representing individuals and families affected by medical negligence, with expertise spanning birth injuries, delayed diagnoses and complex inquests.
Throughout her career, she has secured substantial compensation for clients requiring long-term care and support, including an eight-figure settlement for a child with cerebral palsy following a delayed birth.
She has also represented the family of Jack Adcock at an inquest and in a subsequent negligence claim, alongside handling cases involving delayed cancer diagnoses and deaths during childbirth.
Louise is recognised as a leading partner in The Legal 500 and is a member of both the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel and the Action against Medical Accidents specialist panel.
She is also a former secretary of the Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers.
In her new role, Louise will work alongside Tees’ existing medical negligence specialists, supporting clients seeking answers, compensation and long-term assistance following avoidable medical harm.
Louise said: “I am delighted to be joining Tees.
“The firm’s reputation for putting clients first and delivering expert, compassionate advice really stood out to me.
“Medical negligence claims are about much more than financial compensation.
“They are about securing answers, achieving accountability and ensuring people have the support they need for the future.
“I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues to continue delivering the very best outcomes for our clients.”
Louise’s appointment forms part of the firm's continued investment in specialist legal expertise as it responds to growing demand for its services.
Partner Tim Deeming added: “We are delighted to welcome Louise to Tees as legal director.
“She is one of the most respected medical negligence lawyers in the region, with an outstanding track record in complex and high-value claims.
“Her expertise, reputation and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients make her an excellent addition to our team.
“Louise’s appointment reflects our continued investment in growing our medical negligence practice and strengthening the support we provide to individuals and families.”
