**Barry Warne, partner and head of employment law at hlw Keeble Hawson** Barry graduated in Law from Cambridge, Gonville & Caius College, with First Class Honours in 1978. He did Articles in the City of London “magic circle” firm Macfarlanes. Admitted as Solicitor 1981, he became a Partner in a national law firm in 1987. After practising Commercial Litigation and Employment Law for many years, he focused on the latter from about 2000 and now wholly specialises in Employment Law. He joined hlw in 2002 as a Partner and now leads the Employment team which is described in the Legal 500 as providing “legally sound commercial advice”. Areas of specialism include TUPE, Employment Tribunal advocacy and Executive Severances. Barry has been recognised in Chambers, “Legal Experts” and the Legal 500 in which he is described as “extremely knowledgeable”. He frequently speaks at seminars including “Business Link” events across Yorkshire and Humberside. In 1990 acted for the successful Claimant in the well known European Court of Justice case on pensions equality, Barber v Guardian Royal Exchange. He is also an accredited mediator.
