Jim Fredlund joined Digital River in 2006 as the vice president of tax, where he oversees the company’s global tax policy and compliance activities. Digital River is a global provider of SaaS-based commerce, payments and marketing solutions, and Jim manages tax issues for the company’s online sales in more than 170 countries and various entities spanning 40 countries. He is tasked with implementing optimal tax structures to satisfy the needs and compliance regulations required by global ecommerce businesses. Prior to joining the team at Digital River, Jim was in charge of tax functions for GE Capital Fleet Services, a business unit within GE that provides commercial car and truck financing and fleet management services to global companies. He spent more than 20 years with the firm, managing various tax-related issues Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a MBA in accounting and finance from Northern Illinois University.
