Tom caught the entrepreneur bug in his teens and has been starting businesses ever since. After a bad experience with his local courier company, Tom founded eCourier.co.uk in ‘04 with the novel ambition of making customers happy. After developing some nifty technology and garish branding, eCourier.co.uk set about changing the (courier) world. The business grew to a team of over 250, rapidly reaching #6 on Deloitte’s list of UK’s fastest growing technology businesses (5291% growth since ‘04). In ‘08 TNT acquired a majority stake in eCourier.co.uk and Tom left with the aim of starting a business that would solve delivery for ecommerce. The following year Shutl launched, promising shoppers delivery within 90 minutes of purchase or within a 1-hour window of the shopper’s choice.
