Sunderland Business Network - About Us: Sunderland Business Network had it’s official launch in March 2008 at which time it will be the first city wide business network in Sunderland established to assist and support local businesses / entrepreneurs in their efforts to start up, establish trading relationships, interact with like minded individuals, communicate with local business leaders and ultimately prosper. The Network offers local businesses the opportunity to come together on a monthly basis to network with like-minded local business men and women in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. We invite speakers from a variety of business disciplines to provide information on the ever-changing legislative landscape, discuss best practice experiences and share new ideas. Members and guests are encouraged to attend these business briefings but attendance is not obligatory, however the power and success of the network and its ability to assist support and develop businesses comes from the participation and commitment of the local businesses themselves. In providing businesses with such networking events Sunderland Business Network will provide an invaluable source of free information, advice and guidance on an informal one-to-one basis. Sunderland Business Network does not operate in isolation and aims to assist businesses to develop on a wider basis. The Network is a members of Business Clubs North East Ltd (BCNE) made up of 8 constituent clubs across the region. Being part of the network gives businesses access to 7 additional monthly networking events and over 800 potential business contacts. Additionally businesses can raise their profile on the www with directory listings on both the SBN and BCNE website. Having been developed through a partnership between BCNE Ltd and Sunderland City Council the Network is already looking to organisations such as The North East Business & Innovation Centre and Sunderland University for partnership opportunities. Additionally once the network is launched it is hopefull that other networking / inter-trading / referral groups such as BRE, BNI, South Tyneside Business Forum will be interested in interacting with the network and it’s members.
