Charity gets the crunch...
A North East charity has put out an appeal with crunch as it tries to give away hundreds of packets of crisps.
Wearside-based charity Hope 4 Kidz had to cancel its Beamish Summer Festival event at the Bank Holiday weekend because of the bad weather. This has left the organisation with an additional problem - what to do with boxes of crisps kindly donated to the performers by Walkers Crisps.
“Walkers gave us boxes of crisps which amount to about 500 bags in all which we were going to use in the green room, where the artists eat and relax,” said charity boss, Viv Watts. “Because the rain meant it was impossible for us to build the stage at Beamish Hall Country House Hotel we now are left with all these boxes and we’d like to give them to another charity or organisation which could make use of them.”
Any group or charity interested in the crisps can contact Hope 4 Kidz on 0191 534 7788. There are 20 boxes with 48 packets in available.
Hope 4 Kidz raises money to help improve the lives of young people from across the North East. The charity provides medical, learning and leisure equipment for children and young people suffering from severe illnesses or disabilities are who suffering hardships.
