Tuning into top talent
The region’s musicians and film makers have been challenged by organisers to unite their skills and create a music video for a top producer.
North East music development agency Generator and regional screen agency Northern Film and Media have come together on a multi-stage project, which will give people the chance to produce an industry standard music video at a high profile event later in the year.
Jim Mawdsley, Generator CEO, said: “The popularity of remixes such as Skream’s remix of La Roux’s ‘In For The Kill’, proves just how effective music collaboration can be.
“We’re excited to be working alongside Northern Film and Media to offer emerging artists the opportunity to work with producers and film makers in the North East.”
Bands and artists have to send in one track to be considered by a panel of music industry experts. The chosen artist will then work with a film maker chosen by NFM to create the video.
Agnes Wilkie, Creative Industry Director for NFM, added: “This is a project that will put both sectors firmly in the national spotlight.
“It provides a brilliant platform to demonstrate the wealth of talent and creativity in the North East and give it a commercial edge in a global market.”
The deadline for submission is today.
