Monday movers: Latest North East appointments
Young professional Kathryn Forster is celebrating after being offered a permanent position at Haines Watts Chartered Accountants’ North East office.
Ms. Forster, 23, from Gateshead began her role at Haines Watts as an audit assistant 6 months ago whilst she is studying on an 18 month training course to gain her ACA Chartered Accountant qualification.
She is currently part qualified and by summer 2011 she is hoping to be a fully qualified chartered accountant for Haines Watts.
Ms. Forster said: “I have been very fortunate to obtain the role, especially at the moment when training positions can be difficult to come by.
“It’s given me an excellent opportunity to build on past experience and will hopefully help me achieve my goal of becoming a chartered accountant.”
A Newcastle based digital marketing agency is enjoying a period of growth and has appointed a marketing specialist.
Emma Adcock, 30, of Newcastle, has taken up the position of client service manager at Silverbean.
The new role involves managing digital marketing services for a number of new Silverbean clients, including Opus Art, Bouf, Boardwise and Vivarti.
Neil Robbins, managing director of Silverbean, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Emma to Silverbean. She impressed us with her extensive marketing experience at companies around the North East.”
Meanwhile, John Marshall, head of the commercial disputes group at Dickinson Dees LLP, will be appointed as the new senior partner following the announcement of the results of the firm’s election.
Mr. Marshall originally trained at the firm and has over 20 years experience as a litigator advising on the avoidance, management and resolution of commercial disputes. His varied caseload has seen him regularly involved before the High Court.
“I am delighted to announce John’s appointment to the role of senior partner,” said Jonathan Blair, managing partner, Dickinson Dees.
“He has played an integral part in the partnership over the past 20 years, having originally joined the firm as a trainee solicitor.”
