Daisy aims to grow in the North East

A UK Telecoms giant will now have a permanent base in the North East after confirming its recently-acquired subsidiary BNS, based in Northumberland, will remain in the region.

The Daisy Group will now add Prudhoe to its business centres in Lancashire, London and the Midlands, ending any speculation over the site’s future.

After the acquisition of BNS in February, we reported that interim managing director Chris Jagusz would be appointed to ensure business continued as usual in the North East.

Following a “successful few months”, it has now been confirmed the BNS site is key to future growth of the Daisy Group, with the office remaining operational, despite previous fears that cut backs may be on the horizon.

Daisy chief operating officer, Gareth Kirkwood, said: “We believe there is a strong business here and we have realised greater synergies than expected, with a cost effective operation in North East.

“We have been continually impressed by the quality and enthusiasm of thepeople at BNS and I am pleased to say that we really do see Prudhoe as being a key part of the Daisy growth story going forward.

“At the time of the acquisition, Daisy have said they recognised BNS was a well run business and is now confident the Prudhoe firm will drive the company forward.”

Mr Jagusz, said: “With the recognised skills within theBNS team and expertise to make more products available to small-mediumbusiness customers, it makes absolute sense to retain our presence in theNorth East.”

BNS is one of the region¹s largest telecoms firms with 8,000 customers across 22,000 business sites, 42,000 fixed line connections and it currently handles over 30 million calls per month.
