KPMG’s revenue holds firm
BUSINESS ADVISORY firm KPMG has announced that revenue at its UK firm held steady at £1.6m while profit before tax rose 10% to £428m.
Meanwhile, revenue in the Northern region has risen 6.6% to £209m, despite a difficult economic environment.
Mick Thompson, KPMG’s Newcastle office senior partner, said: “Investment in our Northern Performance and Technology practice has resulted in a 500% boost to its bottom line to £11m.
“We are proud of our relationships with the region’s leading businesses such as Hargreaves Services, Bellway and Greggs that underpin our audit practice which has revenue of approximately £70m across the North.
“It is pleasing that our Tax practice grew its income to approx £66m after a tough 2009.”
The firm’s pipeline in the New Year also looks positive.
Transactions worked on by the office’s teams include the potential sale of Teesside’s Corus steelworks and the sale of Vertical Pharma Resources to Elysian Capital.
