Serco to cut 500 jobs
Outsourcing provider Serco has announced it will cut 500 jobs, the majority of which will be at its Hook headquarters in Hampshire.
It comes as part of a shake-up of its UK management, and development of shared services operation to increase efficiency.
The company is merging operations into one global division known as Business Process Outsourcing, following a number of acquisitions in the UK, India and Australia.
Christopher Hyman, Chief Executive of Serco Group plc, said: “Our new global BPO capability will open up new opportunities for Serco to provide high quality services to customers in the public and private sector around the world.
“It will also allow us to provide the integrated front, middle and back office operations that our markets are now seeking and, together with the improved innovation and efficiency in our management structure, will support the further improvement of the services that we deliver to our customers.”
