New dispute resolution lawyer for Midlands law firm
Award-winning legal firm Higgs & Sons is expanding its growing contentious probate team with the addition of a new lawyer.
Doug Houghton joins the Brierley Hill-based firm after training and qualifying at Challinors in Birmingham.
Speaking of his move to Higgs, Doug said: “I’m delighted to be joining the firm at such an exciting time in its development. I grew up in the Black Country and am well aware of the reputation that Higgs possesses in the Midlands region.”
Doug brings with him a wealth of experience in contentious probate, family provision claims, disputes concerning beneficial ownership of property, trust and estate administration disputes. He also has experience of Alternative Dispute Resolution and Court of Protection work.
Gavin Faber, head of Higgs’ contentious probate team, said: “It’s fantastic to welcome people like Doug as the department moves from strength to strength. The team continues to grow in this highly specialised area, giving our clients the expertise and service they need.”
The addition to the team is well timed with Gavin Faber recently obtaining the STEP Advanced Certificate in Trusts Litigation. This achievement further underlines the team’s commitment to its clients by continually improving the services on offer.
