YGT In The Sunday Times Fast Track
Your Golf Travel is this weekend celebrating its fourth consecutive placing in the Sunday Times Fast Track which gives recognition to the fastest growing companies in the United Kingdom. The company posted end of year results that were impressive enough to place it at number 59 in the Top 100 list, solidifying its position as the largest and most successful golf tour operator in Europe.
Golf tours are indeed a lucrative business with an ever greater number of people taking golfing holidays in recent times. Your Golf Travel’s outstanding success has been achieved through a number of impressive promotions, including golf holiday discounts and destination partnerships, illustrating the company’s ability to think outside of the box to delight its customers.
December began with a rush of bookings at yourgolftravel.com, as golfers sought to book a holiday on the fairways with four or more of their friends to take advantage of the humorous, yet attractive promotion that is Get Trousered with Ian Poulter – your chance gain a bit of Poulter-panache and receive a complementary pair of trousers from IJP Design, which retail at just under £100.
Previously, Your Golf Travel had signed an agreement with Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke, the former Open Champion. As part of the agreement, Mr Clarke is now Global Brand Ambassador for the fast-growing operator and as resident of Portrush - the golfing destination renowned among golfing enthusiasts - will have a very significant role to play in increasing the brand visibility of Your Golf Travel, not merely in Europe, but across the globe.
The founders of Your Golf Travel - Ross Marshall, 31 and Andrew Harding, 32, met at Durham University as undergraduates and initially capitalised on their entrepreneurial aspirations by starting a gambling website, showing great foresight at a time when the internet gambling boom was just about to explode.
The pair later sold that particular business, having detected a gap in the market for golfing holidays, while indulging their mutual passion for the sport – founding Your Golf Travel at the young ages of 24 and 23 in 2005.
The company now takes bookings for golfing holidays on over 3500 courses in 22 countries for over 22000 golfers per year. Such is the increasing demand for the YTG product that firm has recently launched its own corporate events division.
One of the reasons for this growth – apart from entrepreneurial guile of course – is repeat business, illustrating that a Your Golf Travel customer is indeed a happy customer.
