ADD boosts team with trio of apprentices

Three of the region’s budding young IT enthusiasts are sharpening their technical skills as apprentices with Yorkshire computer hardware and data destruction specialist Advanced Digital Dynamics (ADD) Ltd.

Andrew Kinder is training to be an IT technician, Leigh Rowley is developing his sales and marketing skills and Toni Pickersgill is learning the ropes in HR and training.

The appointments come at a formative time for the business - turnover has rocketed from £300k to £4million in the last six years with team numbers increasing from three to 19.

Julie Pickersgill, ADD’s operations director, said: “As a business we’re committed to recruiting, training and developing the very best people from the IT sector.

“It’s great to give our apprentices a strong start to their careers - their fresh insight is invaluable and we look forward to attracting more young people to the scheme going forward.”

Toni Pickersgill, who has been studying for her NVQ Management through the company, said: “The formal qualification combined with ‘on the job’ training has given me a real insight into the rewards and challenges of working in HR.

“This feels as though it is a career rather than a job and there are infinite opportunities to develop within this role.”

ADD Ltd, based in Harrogate, provides independent business IT solutions in hardware and software, as well as safe onsite data destruction, lifecycle asset management and disaster recovery.

Clients comprise small to medium sized businesses as well as global blue chip companies, NHS Trusts, local authorities and police forces throughout the UK.
