Local solicitors raise funds for domestic abuse charity
A Merseyside race night organised by Morecrofts Solicitors has helped to raise in excess of £1,800 for a Wirral domestic violence charity.
The event, which was attended by more than 80 people, was held at The Lauries Centre in Birkenhead in aid of the Zero Centre.
The Zero Centre is the only dedicated domestic abuse drop-in centre for women, young people and children in Wirral.
Julie Waring, a partner at Morecrofts Solicitors in Birkenhead, and Zero Centre Trustee, said: “The work of the Zero Centre has a hugely positive impact on the lives of so many families at a time when they need it most.
“We were thrilled with the response of the local community, who came together to raise vital funds and also have a good time in the process.
Morag Reid, of the Zero Centre, said: “We have all been delighted with the success of the evening and the extent of support from the Morecrofts team, along with the continued support of our clients and guests.
“The fact that such a great night was had is a bonus, what’s important is that the money raised will make a real and tangible difference to the women and children we support to escape domestic abuse”.
