Fletchers to recruit following surge in NHS claims

North West law firm, Fletchers Solicitors, has experienced a surge in medical negligence cases, causing them to front a recruitment drive for five new solicitors.

A significant rise in NHS claims means Fletchers are recruiting five new solicitors with medical litigation experience to join their 20-strong workforce.

The law firm said it now handles one in every 15 medical negligence cases in the UK, and the new solicitors will be responsible for their growing list of clients, as demand for legal support in this area grows.

Chief executive, Ed Fletcher, commented: “Cuts to NHS funding have had a clear impact on front-line services, and in a culture where mistakes are actively concealed, more patients are at risk of harm.

“The revelations of the Mid Staffordshire scandal and now the findings of the Keogh review have highlighted the poor standards of care in our hospitals.

“As a result, an increasing number of people who have suffered from medical negligence are starting to realise they are not alone and feel justified in finding answers.

“To support this growth, we’re continuing to invest in high quality talent to ensure we provide the best possible service to our clients.

“Compassion and understanding are at the heart of the Fletchers offering, so we’ll be looking for these key qualities in our new staff.

“It’s an exciting time for the business at the moment and it’s fantastic to see it continue to expand.”
