Mersey barristers offer nationwide Employment Law advice

A team of senior barristers from Liverpool is offering a new support service to businesses across the country, providing expert training sessions and specialist advice on employment law.

The team, from St John Buildings Chambers, based at India Buildings in Water Street, Liverpool, will deliver employment training in areas including changes to government legislation, how employers should respond to claims of age, gender and disability discrimination in the work place, and employee welfare.

The interactive sessions are available for large groups or on a one-to-one basis and range from one-hour sessions to five-day intensive courses. They are led by Liverpool-based barristers Lorraine Mensah and Ana Samuel, together with their expert team of Legal 500 accredited legal professionals.

Lorraine Mensah said: “The landscape of employment law is forever changing in the UK and business owners are often left unsure about where their responsibilities lie. It’s an area that affects all professionals at some point or another and it’s one that people can’t afford to be unclear about. We want to provide a service that cuts through the legal jargon and clears up any uncertainties people may have.

Ana Samuel added: “Employment law isn’t a ‘one-size-fits-all’ area and we want to put this into perspective with these unique, tailor-made sessions. They are especially designed to suit all business types and needs within their own context, as well as an insight in to how decisions would be reached by the courts and tribunals.

“Our team has a wealth of experience in this field and regularly appear in the Employment Tribunal. We want to use this valuable first-hand experience to offer businesses across the country specialist advice and a completely unique learning experience.”

The announcement follows the launch a new online service, Pro-Vide-Law.co.uk. The website is a unique offering that provides expert advice, case notes, sector news, and a debate platform for the UK’s legal community.

Two major training events will be held to coincide with the launch of the new services. They will include seminars led by leading practitioners and expert eyewitnesses, together with a series of interactive activities.
