Still time to enter North East contact centre awards

The brightest stars of the North East’s contact centres will be honoured at a glittering award ceremony next month – and it’s not too late to join them.

With just two weeks to go before the closing date for entries, nominations are still being accepted for the prestigious North East Contact Centre awards, on 22 November, which will recognise the industry’s finest across the region.

There are more than 145 call centres in the North East, employing around 160,000 people and organisers are calling on them to make their nominations before the 18 October deadline.

There are 10 categories to choose from, giving individual employees, teams and companies the chance to showcase their skills and achievements and entries can be made via the website at www.necontactcentreawards.co.uk.

This year the event is being organised by Sunderland City Council with main sponsors NRG Resource Solutions.

Cllr Paul Watson, Leader of Sunderland City Council encouraged centres from across the region to get involved.

“The awards offer a fantastic opportunity to showcase the excellent work that is being carried out and to highlight that the North East is a major player in this important industry,” he said.

Managing director of NRG, Therese Liddle added: “The contact centre sector is dynamic and diverse in its portfolio of services and its breadth of employment and career opportunities.

“We are pleased to once again be the headline sponsor for such an important awards event and look forward to seeing the many successful companies in the region being honoured.”

In addition, GEM Contact Centre is sponsoring the award for Outstanding Team Leader of the Year.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the award and are looking forward to celebrating with the region’s contact centre industry’s top talent,” said Rebecca Hutchinson, head of the contact centre.

The winners will be announced at a Willy Wonka-themed awards dinner at Rainton Meadows Arena on 22 November and tickets, which cost £70 each, are available by contacting enquiries@necontactcentreawards.com.
