Gateley strengthens its Manchester team with fresh legal talent

Gateley – the top 50 national law firm – has invested in the growth of its Manchester office with the appointment of eight new legal professionals.

The firm, which is committed to further developing its corporate and commercial teams by attracting top legal graduates to the North West, has welcomed three newly-qualified lawyers to the office: Leigh Whittaker, Rachel Cowgill and Tom Hughes.

Leigh Whittaker, who has been on secondment at Taylor Wimpey, has recently qualified in the corporate team. Rachel Cowgill, who has been on secondment at Manchester City Football Club, is newly-qualified in to the commercial team, where Tom Hughes is also newly-qualified.

Rod Waldie, head of the Manchester office, commented: “Young talent is of significant value to our thriving corporate and commercial teams. Gateley prides itself on consistently attracting top legal talent from across the UK and we are pleased to have had the opportunity to take on these promising individuals, as the firm continues to grow.”

Gateley has also taken on five new graduate trainees, including: Christopher Basford, University of Manchester; Conor Hannon, Queens University, Belfast; Jenna King, University of Lancaster; Rebecca Mills, University of Newcastle; and Katie Porter, Nottingham University.

Waldie added: “These latest appointments reflect the growth of Gateley’s Manchester office and we are delighted to welcome these trainees to our team. We expect to see great things from each of them as their careers progress.”
