Hill Dickinson bolsters Manchester office with two specialist appointments

The Manchester office of international law firm Hill Dickinson continues to invest in talent with the appointment of two specialist legal advisors in its Commercial and Private Client teams.

James Clayton joins as an associate in the commercial team from DWF and will work alongside Partner, Mark Fitzgibbon to bolster the team’s public sector procurement expertise, particularly in the healthcare sector.

James brings with him 10 years’ experience in advising clients on all aspects of commercial contract law, from simple terms of sale to complex outsourcing and project agreements. James also has significant experience in acting for clients on contracts within the healthcare sector, principally for those involved in the provision of frontline services.

James’ specialism in public sector procurement coupled with his expertise in handling commercial contracts further builds on Hill Dickinson’s reputation as specialists in commercial law for the healthcare sector – an area which looks set to grow as the sector adapts to the increasing need to become more entrepreneurial.

Joining the Manchester private client team, Jane Lee brings 11 years’ experience in advising high net worth individuals and professional trust companies in relation to all manner of trusts, wills, tax planning and residence and domicile issues.

Jane specialises in estate and succession planning for owner managed businesses, advising on tax efficient exit strategies and securing smooth devolution of assets to the next generation.

Jane also brings a specialist knowledge of advising on cross border estate planning, structuring and inheritance tax planning for non UK domiciled clients in addition to advising non UK domiciled settlors and beneficiaries of offshore trusts on their UK tax position.

Construction company expands team

Bolton construction company Artez is going from strength to strength with the addition of three new members to its team.

The expansion of the business comes following its success in 2013 having grown to a £2 million turnover company with a pipeline of work that will double the turnover in 2014.

Lisa Dash joins Artez from regeneration company Urban Splash and will take up the role of accounts manager. Lisa, who is from West Lancashire will head up the finance team at the company and will be based at Artez’s head office in Summerfield Court.

Artez also welcomes project manager Bill Cowan.

Bill, who is from Liverpool and has been a construction manager for over twenty years is currently working across a number of key projects in Bolton but has been brought in to lead on the delivery of Artez’s largest contract to date, starting in April.

Fred Lundstrum is a qualified site supervisor with decades of experience working as a joiner and more recently a site manager / finishing foreman. His attention to detail is what sets him apart from other managers.

De Poel clarity boosts team with two new appointments

de Poel Clarity – the independent and vendor neutral expert in managing temporary workforces in the NHS and private health and care sectors – has bolstered its team with the appointment of two highly experienced industry experts.

Donna Topham and Kate Jones join de Poel Clarity’s, as operations director and operations executive respectively.

Donna, who lives in Warrington, joins from Ranstad Care, where she served as operations director. She brings 17 years’ experience in the recruitment industry and will head up the account management team within the Knutsford-based company.

Kate, 27, from Hopwood in Rochdale, joins from Medacs Managed Healthcare, where she worked as a business support manager. Kate’s role as an operations executive will focus on ensuring the eligibility of candidates to work, as part of Clarity’s mission to reduce the cost of compliance.

Crawford announces key hire in US market

Crawford Healthcare has further strengthened its commitment to the US market by announcing the appointment of Terry Bromley, Senior Vice President and General Manager.

Terry Bromley has worked in the medical industry for over 20 years stacking up vital experience working for healthcare giants including Bristol Myers Squibb and ConvaTec.

Terry has extensive experience in Wound, Skin, and Burn Care having run a number of divisions within Convatec during his time there. Terry has a marketing background but also brings a keen understanding of the sales process and the complex selling environment of the US market place.

Reporting directly to Crawford Healthcare CEO, Richard Anderson, Terry will lead the US Business Unit by developing strategies and assembling teams aligned to aggressively grow our presence in the US wound care market.

The appointment of Terry is a strong indication of how serious Crawford is about making the US market a huge success for the business and the fact that Crawford is attracting individuals of Terry’s calibre shows what potential Crawford has in the US.
