New finance director joins Fletchers Solicitors
Fletchers Solicitors, a leading medical negligence and personal injury firm in the UK, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of a new finance director.
Gary Carrington joins the firm after working in accountancy for the last 18 years where he specialised predominately in tax. Most recently, he was a partner at Baker Tilly for six years where he became a key member of its Professional Practice Group, providing advice in the commoditised legal sector. During this time, he assisted a number of law firms and key stakeholders in the personal injury sector in responding to the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO) and the referral fee ban, as well as providing tax and commercial advice on a number of key transactions in the North West legal sector.
His position as finance director at Fletchers Solicitors will be his first role outside of an accountancy practice. He will assist with the development of commercial initiatives where his sector knowledge, skill set and industry contacts will assist Fletchers’ leadership team in achieving their vision of becoming the top medical negligence and personal injury law firm in the country.
In the last year, Fletchers Solicitors has experienced a significant phase of growth that has seen the firm expand its offices and undertake a recruitment drive in order to build the strongest team of industry professionals.
Ed Fletcher, CEO at Fletchers Solicitors, said: “We are extremely pleased to have Gary on board. His extensive experience in the finance and tax industry is highly valuable to his role with us, coupled with his wealth of knowledge on the legal sector.
“He will be a key asset to our leadership team and I’m confident he will provide fantastic support during our period of growth.”
Commenting on his appointment, Gary Carrington said: ’‘I am very excited about this new role. I have spent the last four years developing my ideas of what a modern law firm in the personal injury legal sector should look and feel like. Fletchers Solicitors ticks all the boxes and I am looking forward to assist the team in its future growth and development.’’
