Taylor&Emmet Enriches Firms With Poor Performance

Employment law experts at Taylor&Emmet LLP are providing South Yorkshire businesses with the tools they need to tackle poor performance head on.

The Sheffield-based solicitors are inviting local employers to the latest free T&E Advance training session, which will be dedicated to underperformance in the workplace.

Effective Management of Poor Performance will be held on September 18 at Sheffield’s Leopold Hotel. Delivered by Taylor&Emmet’s experienced employment law team, this interactive workshop will discuss how to communicate performance standards and apply a proactive approach to addressing problems as they arise.

The breakfast seminar will provide background information on the laws relating to underperformance, helping delegates separate misconduct and performance issues. It will also identify reasons for poor work and the discrimination risks, enabling employers to decide when dismissal is a fair course of action.

David Poddington, Taylor&Emmet’s head of employment law, said: “A highly motivated workforce can be an organisation’s greatest asset, improving productivity and achieving commercial objectives. In our experience, poor performance is too often an issue that is left unaddressed and ineffective employees can continue in post for years. It is probably harder to dismiss someone fairly for this reason than any other, but we feel it is time to redress the balance.”

Taylor&Emmet’s seminar will run from 8am to 10am. Delegates will have an opportunity to ask questions of the firm’s employment law team and network before, during and after the workshop. Places are limited to two representatives per organisation.
