New appointment at North East award-winning dentist
ONE OF the North East’s leading dental practices has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new dentist.
Richard Coates, formerly of Sunderland’s Wessington Way practice, has joined the award-winning Riveredge Dentistry which has surgeries in both Sunderland and Newcastle.
Riveredge, headed up my multi-award winning dentist Dr Ken Harris, is widely regarded as one of the top practices for cosmetic dentistry in the UK, along with offering general dental services.
“We are delighted to have Richard join our team,” said Dr Harris. “He is an excellent practitioner and will be a real asset to Riveredge.”
Richard, from Washington, worked in Darlington and North Tyneside before joining a Sunderland practice 10 years ago. However, with the imminent closure of Wessington Way Dental Practice, Richard has taken the opportunity to join the team at Riveredge.
“I am a huge admirer of Dr Harris and the work he does at Riveredge,” he said. “He is renowned throughout the dental profession and has an international reputation.
“Coming to Riveredge is an excellent move for me as it also gives me the opportunity to develop my career and work towards a Masters degree.
“I know Dr Harris teaches cutting edge techniques across the world so it will be a great opportunity to work alongside him.”
Dr Harris is one of the top cosmetic dentists in the country and last year received his MSc in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry from the University of Manchester, passing with a Distinction.
He is also one of only two Fellows of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (BACD) which involves him teaching other dentists around the UK. He is a full member of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (BAAD) and regularly teaches USA dentists at the world renowned Kois Center programme across in Seattle.
