Kamran Akram of Asons nominated for Best Professional
The shortlist for the fourth annual English Asian Business Awards, presented by Lloyds Banking Group, has been announced with names from the North West featuring in the nominations. Bolton-based Asons Solicitors’ Principal Director, Kamran Akram, has made a showing in the category of Best Professional in Business.
The black tie ceremony, which takes place at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on June 8, recognises businesses and professionals from across the British Asian community that have made a significant impact in their industries.
Kamran has recently made a strong impression on the legal world as a thought leader and inspiring speaker, having provided guest lectures at the University of Bolton and the University of Salford’s law faculties, as well as on panels at trade shows such as the Claims Conference at Lancashire County Cricket Club and the Legal Futures Conference at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester’s Castlefield. He was also invited to be a guest writer in the Solicitors Journal special report, Personal Injury Practice: An Expert Guide.
The awards will gather, and provide networking opportunities for, the rising stars, highest achievers and most highly respected leaders of the business and charity sectors. The event also raises funds for The Amir Khan Foundation, which was launched in 2014 by the Bolton boxer in partnership with the Penny Appeal, with the aim of changing the lives of deprived children and orphans in global locations of poverty.
Asons’ nominee Kamran Akram said: “I am extremely delighted and humbled to have been nominated for this prestigious award. Best of luck to all nominees, in my eyes we are all winners.”
Further local nominees across various other categories include Asiyah Atcha (of Addictive Beauty Studio in Bolton), Archie’s Burgers & Shakes in Manchester and the same city’s online clothing retailer Pretty Little Thing.
Yasmin Mahmood, Operations Director at event organisers Oceanic Consulting, said: “Each year we see the awards go from strength to strength as businesses and individuals from across the country compete to be crowned the best in their industry and this year will be no different.
“I would also like to congratulate all of the finalists. We have some truly inspiring individuals within all categories.”
