Liverpool-based law firm Morecrofts secures RBS funding

Liverpool-based Morecrofts Solicitors has switched its banking facilities to The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

Established in 1813 Morecrofts is one of Liverpool’s oldest private and commercial law firms.

The firm recently moved to a new headquarters in Cotton Exchange, Old Hall Street and provides its services nationwide across six regional offices in Liverpool, Woolton, Allerton, Crosby, Wirral and London.

It employs over 100 people.

Morecrofts has formed a new banking partnership with RBS which comes on the back of a deal to fund the firm’s Alternative Business Structure which has seen them bring in two non-lawyers to the partnership, with David Parr appointed as Finance Partner and Julie Johnson as Business Operations Partner.

Managing Partner at Morecrofts, Alison Lobb, said: “The change to ABS means we are able to benefit from different types of expertise at partnership level from business professionals who are not lawyers, but already have significant experience within the firm.

“This gives a new dimension to our business strategy and demonstrates our commitment to driving further success for Morecrofts and our clients.”

“The funding from RBS has helped to achieve this and it made sense to switch our banking facilities.

“In fact this move sees us returning to RBS after a four year break. Throughout that time we have continued to have an excellent relationship with the local team.

“They have supported us in holding joint events and seminars and have recommended our services to their valued clients.

“I am delighted to renew our partnership and be able to work together to support our future growth strategy.”

Relationship Director at RBS, Andy Webster, said: “I am delighted to welcome Morecrofts back as a customer of RBS and to support the expansion of this highly regarded Liverpool business.

“The recent relocation to new premises and the move to ABS herald a significant and exciting period for the firm.”
