Employee of the Year win for Beaumont Legal

Beaumont Legal Associate Solicitor Emma Newby has been awarded the title “Employee of the Year” for the city of Wakefield after she clinched the prestigious title at the 2015 Wakefield Business Awards, organised by the Wakefield Express. Presented by Andy Turner from sponsor First Choice Recruitment, the award was fiercely contested by a range of people from across the city.

A solicitor at Beaumont Legal for eight years, Emma leads a specialist conveyancing team and often handles some of the more complex cases for customers across England and Wales. Judges were impressed by the glowing praise she had received from her colleagues and clients, as well as many examples when she has gone above and beyond the call of duty for clients, such as hand delivering documents when Royal Mail couldn’t deliver them because of the snow.

Emma has worked with the firm as it has grown to become one of the largest residential conveyancers in the country and the largest in Yorkshire and said of the award: “I was completely shocked when they read out my name – it’s pretty overwhelming. I’m really, really chuffed – it means a lot just to have been nominated but to have won is incredible - I’m over the moon.”

Beaumont Legal Managing Partner Nick Masheder said of Emma’s achievement: “Putting together an entry nomination for Emma was easy as there are so many clients, members of staff and people who we work with who had good things to say about her. She is a fantastic team player who works tirelessly to make sure that everyone works together to get the best result possible for every client. She’s not happy until every one of her customers is happy and I’m so proud that the Wakefield Business Awards have recognised the work that she does as a valued part of the team.”
