Taylor&Emmet employment expert among legal elite
David Poddington, head of employment law at Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP, has retained his place on The Legal 500’s elite leading lawyers list for a third consecutive year.
He is named as one of the 2015 industry guide’s outstanding solicitors in Yorkshire and the Humber, receiving praise for being “practical, commercial and responsive.”
In addition to David’s personal commendation, his team maintains its position as one of the region’s top eight employment law firms, as judged by the annual survey of solicitors.
The results of The Legal 500 2015 reinforce the range and quality of Taylor&Emmet’s services, acknowledging its expertise in ten areas of business and private client law. Its corporate team is commended for delivering on “promises, timescales and costs,” whilst the arrival of partner, Paul Smith, is said to have boosted the firm’s commercial litigation practice, which has particular strength in the motor trade.
“Total professional,” James Drydale, receives recognition with fellow clinical negligence specialist, the “imaginative and thoughtful” Paul Fouad. They are praised for their work with claimants alongside head of personal injury, Jonathan Stittle, who is noted for high value and complex cases and for being “kind and thoughtful.” Both he and colleague, John Green, are described as providing “excellent overall service.”
Michaela Heathcote leads Taylor&Emmet’s “sizeable” family team and is described by The Legal 500 as “good, empathetic and helpful.” Her department receives recognition for assisting with domestic abuse issues for non-English speaking clients and its high net worth matrimonial work.
Anthony Long, Taylor&Emmet’s chief executive, said: “The Legal 500 is an excellent measure of the progress we have made in the last 12 months and it is gratifying to see the firm perform so well again this year, across so many disciplines. I would like to congratulate those who have received individual recommendations and whose expertise, dedication and excellent leadership have played such a crucial role in our terrific results.”
Taylor&Emmet is also recognised by The Legal 500 for its expertise in commercial property, social housing, property litigation and personal tax, trusts and probate. For more information, telephone (0114) 218 4000, visit www.tayloremmet.co.uk or follow the firm on Twitter @tayloremmet.
