Lloyds Bank embarks on three-year partnership with Liverpool school

Lloyds Bank has formed a new Business Class partnership with St Julie’s Catholic High School.

The bank’s mid markets commercial banking team, based in St Paul’s Square in Liverpool city centre, signed the agreement with the Woolton school to help its students develop employability skills.

Caroline Cuthbertson, Lloyds Bank’s area director, said: “We’re embarking on a three-year partnership to promote and support the employability skills of the students and assist the school in achieving the objectives identified in conjunction with Business in the Community (BITC).

“The programme will focus on confidence building, those employability skills and using real life maths problems to bring these skills to life.”

The first 12 months of the programme will offer students the chance to engage in workshops with a view to achieving their career aspirations.

The head teacher at St. Julie’s, Tim Alderman, commented: “I’m really proud that St. Julie’s has become the newest member of the Merseyside BITC cluster, partnering with the Lloyds Banking Group.

“There are so many great activities and workshops planned throughout the year including positive female role models in the workplace, building resilience and developing confidence, enhancing employability skills, providing students with an insight into the use of mathematical skills in the real world and in the world of business as well as providing opportunities for mentoring and work experience.”

He added: “We’re really pleased to have been chosen as a partner with Lloyds and to be part of a cluster of leading businesses in the region.”
