Vardags Revealed as Fastest Growing Law Firm

Leading family law firm Vardags which recently opened offices in Manchester, has seen its impressive growth recognised after being named as the only law firm to make the prestigious Sunday Times’ Fast Track 100 growth list.

The 48-strong company, founded by president Ayesha Vardag in 2005, ranked 46th on the list released on Sunday (6 December), after demonstrating 63% compound growth in turnover over the past three years.

The Fast Track 100 outlines the 100 quickest growing private companies, celebrating the best in British business since 1997.

Vardags is headquartered next to the Old Bailey, London and also has a regional office in Winchester, with ambitious plans for at least one new location in 2016.

Unlike many other firms in the industry, Vardags has seen year-on-year growth, whilst dealing with some of the world’s most complex international family law cases. However, the industry as a whole has struggled.

It is believed the company’s strategy team, which comprises leading business rather than legal professionals and is headed up by former McKinsey strategist Dr Stephen Bence, is one of the main factors behind the success.

Stephen joined Vardags in 2013 and the business has since seen soaring growth and office workforce expansions. Vardags is one of the only companies on the Fast Track list with its growth masterminded by a husband and wife team, with Ayesha and Stephen tying the knot in June last year.

Dr Bence, Director of Strategy at Vardags, said: “We’re delighted to have been included in the Fast Track list which tracks the country’s fastest growing firms. It’s an extraordinary accolade.

“Over the past three years we’ve experienced more than fourfold revenue growth – a 63% compound annual growth rate.

“This proves that the most cutting-edge, modern business practices are not confined to trendy tech industries but can bring about transformation in the most conventional and old-fashioned of fields.

“We’re on a mission to transform high net worth law into a modern, flexible, high calibre industry with no holds barred on success. This is only the beginning.”

Sir Richard Branson of Virgin, the title sponsor for all 19 years, commented: “This year’s Fast Track 100 is packed full of entrepreneurs and family businesses tackling many different challenges head-on and thriving thanks to their team spirit and togetherness.”
