Sales reach £169m in ‘record year’ for Sheffield healthcare firm
Sheffield-based healthcare organisation B. Braun Medical Ltd has reported another ‘record year’, achieving significant growth in both sales and profitability.
In the financial year spanning January 2015 to December 2015, B. Braun’s UK Group sales grew to £169m, an increase of 7% compared to the same period in 2014.
Hans Hux, group chief executive and chairman at B. Braun, attributes the company’s growth to its employees, as well as its innovative products and service, and the support it provides the National Health Service (NHS) in increasing efficiencies and improving patient outcomes.
Hans said: “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved in 2015.This success is very much down to the commitment of our staff here at B. Braun, as well as the company’s long-term focus on employee training and education.
“B. Braun employs 1,200 people in the UK and is one of country’s very few ‘Investors in People Gold Champion’ organisations.
“This growth is also due to the company’s dedication to the innovation of its products, services, and in-market activities, all of which deliver the very best outcomes for our customers.”
As part of the global B. Braun group, B. Braun in the UK is a major player in key market areas including computer navigated orthopaedic surgery, needle safety technology, surgical instrumentation, sterile technology/services, disinfection and hygiene as well as dialysis services and automated infusion systems.
Hans added: “The outlook for 2016 is very positive in terms of sales and profit expectations, but also in creating additional employment opportunities nationwide.
“B. Braun is committed to supporting Sheffield, where the company’s head quarters are based, and we look forward to the year ahead with plans for further investment in our people and facilities.”
