New Seacroft Poundworld store creates 30 retail jobs
Poundworld, the Normanton-based value retailer, has announced it will open a new store in Seacroft creating 30 new retail jobs.
Opening Thursday 10th March at 10am, the new Poundworld will be situated at the former Brantano Shoes at Seacroft Green Shopping Centre.
The Seacroft opening will mark Poundworld’s 317th store, which is part of the retailer’s expansion plan to open 60 new stores this year.
The 3,000 sq ft store will offer over 5,000 products for the price of £1, including groceries, cleaning, health and beauty, pet care, toys and stationery.
Chris Edwards Junior, Poundworld’s trading director, commented: “We’re excited to open our doors to locals in Seacroft creating 30 new jobs in the process.
“We hope to breathe new life in to the former Brantano Shoes store, offering great value and great convenience for the Seacroft community.
“We’re a Yorkshire business and we already have stores in Leeds that are incredibly popular. We’re expecting our new Seacroft store to be a popular addition to the Seacroft Green shopping centre.”
Poundworld, which started on a Wakefield market stall in 1974, has 315 stores nationwide and plans to open a further sixty stores annually for the next three years.
