New product liability partner at BLM
The UK and Ireland’s leading insurance and risk law firm BLM has appointed Carys Oatham as partner in its London based product liability team.
Carys joined BLM from DWF, where she specialized in product liability litigation and headed the firm’s London Property Damage Recovery Team.
She has over 17 years’ experience in handling product liability claims resulting in property damage, acting for suppliers, manufacturers and insurers. She also has experience in multi jurisdiction claims, in particular those involving the French and Italian Courts.
Carys Oatham, partner at BLM, said: “BLM is among the most forward-thinking and innovative law firms, and has a clear plan to take the business into the future. The firm also has an extremely well-respected product liability team that operates internationally, and I am looking forward to working closely with Jim to provide the best result for our customers.”
Jim Sherwood, partner and head of product liability at BLM, said: “During her 17 years as a product liability lawyer, Carys has demonstrated the ability to respond to the needs of the market, which is becoming an ever more important part of our role as lawyers.
“At BLM, we are focused on creating an agile team centered around the needs of our customers in this developing area of law. Carys’ appointment takes us another step closer to this goal, and I am confident that she will become a key part of the team as it continues to grow.”
