Online workwear seller dons new outfit at Middlesbrough’s Cleveland Centre
A new retail outlet selling workwear to local businesses and the general public has opened in Middlesbrough’s Cleveland Centre, creating four new jobs.
The Workwear Warehouse, the first of a planned chain of North-East stores, is selling half a million units of workwear from a unit previously known to local football supporters as Middlesbrough FC’s shop in the Centre’s Newton Mall.
The store’s workwear stock ranges from office suits to boiler suits and from nurses’ tunics to hard hats, with owner Martin Murphy promising: “In the unlikely event of us not having what you need in stock, then we promise to do all we can to find it for you, using our extensive workwear network.”
He added: “Whether it’s coats, shirts, suits or trousers, we stock everything to do with workwear in a wide range of sizes. We’ve been able to negotiate the best possible prices with our suppliers, so we’re able to pass on great value to our customers.
“We welcome trade customers and the general public. We want to become known as the place to go for your workwear needs.
“We previously ran the business online, but I’m a firm believer in the high street too, so we’re delighted to have launched our Cleveland Centre store. I’m really excited about the business – more than any other time in my career.”
Cleveland Centre manager Graeme Skillen said: “We’re delighted to welcome the Workwear Warehouse at a time when we’re in ongoing talks with a number of prospective clients interested in taking further units within the Centre.”
Middlesbrough’s largest shopping centre, the Cleveland Centre is home to more than 60 retail stores incuding Topshop, New Look, H&M, HMV, Boots, Pscyhe2, Stormfront and 02.
