Charity racing event accelerates support for vulnerable people

A racing event at hlw Keeble Hawson’s Doncaster office has boosted support for Changing Lives – a charity which provides specialist support for socially excluded and vulnerable people.

Carmelle Harold and Andrea McIntosh from Changing Lives highlighted how the charity supports 6,000 vulnerable people every month – and how its specialist support services for women and their families span dedicated recovery centres, temporary and long-term accommodation opportunities, and employment and volunteering opportunities.

More than 50 people threw themselves into the spirit of the racing via a big screen – helping to raise £300 from a charity raffle with the winner receiving tickets to Doncaster races.

Paul Goel, managing partner of hlw Keeble Hawson’s Doncaster office which provides free fortnightly legal advice sessions at the charity’s Doncaster clinic, said: “Our team witnesses at first hand the invaluable work of Changing Lives whose pioneering and innovative programmes are instrumental in helping people make positive, lasting changes.”

Changing Lives group chief executive, Stephen Bell OBE, said: “The continued, much appreciated support from hlw Keeble Hawson helps us continue our work in engaging with communities who are at the very edges of society – whether this be through rough sleeping, suffering from mental health problems - or experiencing exploitation and violence.
