Manchester’s Kings Chambers unveils ‘formidable and dynamic’ leadership team

A Northern barristers’ chambers is looking to unlock growth in the UK and overseas after revealing an all-new leadership lineup.

Manchester-based Kings Chambers, which appointed Nigel Poole QC as its head of chambers earlier this year, said the new team’s vision is to develop a “modern, accessible” firm offering “high level, specialist services” to both national and international clients.

Paul Tucker QC, who has experience contesting high profile cases in the Planning Court, is the firm’s deputy head of chambers while retaining his post as head of planning.

He is joined by chancery and commercial litigation specialist Lesley Anderson QC, who is now head of chancery and commercial law.

Sam Karim QC, who became the youngest QC on the Northern circuit when he was named queen’s counsel this year, is head of administrative law and public law.

Rounding off the new leadership team is Fiona Ashworth. Fiona specialises in personal injury and professional and clinical negligence, having served 29 years at the bar. She has been named Kings Chambers’ head of clinical negligence and personal injury.

Nigel Poole QC said of the appointments: “I am delighted to be working with the new leadership team at Kings Chambers.

“Not only are they distinguished in their own fields of practice, but together they make a formidable and dynamic management group of which the Kings family of barristers, clerks and other staff can be proud”

He continued: “Kings Chambers offers a breadth of specialist expertise in civil law that is second to none. We are committed to providing a highly professional, efficient and accessible service.

“In times of uncertainty in the legal world, Kings is a strong, confident set with a national reputation.”

Kings Chambers currently has 110 barristers across offices in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.

Chambers director Debra Andrés commented: “Everyone associated with Kings Chambers is excited about the energy and vision of our new leadership team.
