FRP Advisory establishes Newcastle base following hire

A specialist business advisory firm, FRP Advisory, has today (January 15) announced the launch of its first Newcastle office following an acquisition from accountancy firm Tait Walker.

The sale involves that of a nine-strong restructuring and insolvency team. The lateral hire of partner Andrew Haslam and his team will see FRP Advisory acquire one of the largest independent restructuring teams in the city and expand its presence in the North East.

Haslam has more than 25 years of experience of managing corporate insolvency cases, dealing with company administrations and liquidations, and advising company directors regarding their statutory duties.

He is joined by consultant Gordon Goldie, who first established the restructuring department at Tait Walker in 1995, along with manager Tonya Allison and six other employees.

Commenting on the move, Andrew Haslam said: “During our time at Tait Walker we have been able to expand and strengthen our restructuring offering to drive year-on-year growth.

“The move to FRP Advisory enables us to build on these foundations and support the growing market of business owners, professional services firms and investors in the region that we advise.

“We’re looking forward to working with the national team as we bring FRP Advisory services to Newcastle to bolster the firm’s presence in the north of England.”

This is the latest move at FRP Advisory, which last year announced its merger with insolvency specialist BWC Corporate Recovery in a deal that bolstered the firm’s presence in the North of England, seeing FRP Advisory open an office in Teesside.

FRP Advisory now employs more than 300 people across 19 locations, including Durham, Newcastle and Teesside, providing clients with the full suite of business advisory services including debt advisory and pensions advisory.
