‘Exciting and innovative’ life sciences firm signs at White City Place

Autolus Limited has signed a deal to become the first major life sciences business to occupy White City Place, the one million sq ft business district in West London.

The biopharmaceutical company will occupy around 33,000 sq ft of office and lab space on the fifth floor of the MediaWorks building.

The plan is to set up at the building in October, when it will join fashion-tech firm Yoox-Net-A-Porter and co-working space provider Huckletree West.

Autolus develops next-generation programmed T cell therapies for treating cancer.

The move was announced this morning (July 2) by the investment and development companies behind the MediaWorks scheme – Stanhope, Mitsui Fudosan and AIMCo.

Stanhope chief exec David Camp said: “Autolus is an exciting and innovative life sciences company and we are delighted that they will be remaining in White City, where they were first established, and bringing life sciences to White City Place.

“We are talking to a number of other interesting occupiers both for White City Place and for the new extension to the British Library and the new Alan Turing Institute, as part of the transformation of London’s Knowledge Quarter.”

Mitsui Fudosan MD Eiichiro Onozawa commented: “The arrival of Autolus at White City Place highlights the transformation of the area into a hotbed of scientific and technological innovation following the development of Imperial College’s new campus, and which is increasingly the destination of choice for life sciences companies looking to relocate in London.”
