Newcastle-based digital talent platform partners with NHS Business Services

The company behind a digital platform that bridges the gap between students, universities and employers has partnered with The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA).

globalbridge, based in Newcastle, launched last year with the aim of connecting talented students with educational and career opportunities.

Its online facility lets students showcase their skills and engage with educational establishments or employers, which in turn get access to a database of potential employees.

The NHSBSA now has its own profile page on globalbridge, through which it can offer placements, insight and innovation days to students, or connect and engage with schools.

The organisation will also use globalbridge to advertise graduate placements and apprenticeships.

Kirste Worland, NHSBSA head of technology applications, said: “We’re delighted the NHSBSA has signed up with globalbridge to showcase the business and the diverse range of workplace opportunities within the organisation.

“It offers us the opportunity to engage with future talent in a digital medium and to benefit from students’ creativity and to bring those ideas into the organisation.”

She continued: “By connecting with students digitally it also removes some of the social and physical barriers and places candidates on a more equal footing. In addition, it gives us a platform to demonstrate some of the projects we are working on.”

The NHSBSA provides central services to NHS bodies, patients and the public. This includes managing the NHS pension scheme, issuing European Health Insurance Cards and administering payments to dentists and pharmacists.
