This week's Yorkshire appointments

Ben Gilligan, East Yorkshire Motor Services

Transport and planning expert, Ben Gilligan has been appointed to the position of area director for Go North East-owned East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS), including Scarborough and District Motor Services.

Leaving his role as director of public transport for the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive in Sheffield, in December Ben will head up operations for EYMS from its Hull HQ.

Ben’s appointment follows the acquisition of EYMS in June by bus operator Go North East, part of Go-Ahead Plc.

He said: “I am really excited about joining the team at EYMS - I’ve been a user of some of their services for a number of years and have found the staff I have dealt with to be great ambassadors for the business which fills me with confidence about the future.

“The recent acquisition provides huge opportunities to improve things further and I am looking forward to contributing to the continued success of EYMS.”

Emma Hopkins Jones and Adrian Coggon, Rollits

Solicitors Emma Hopkins Jones and Adrian Coggon have been appointed at law firm, Rollits. The pair bring 27 years of experience between them to Rollits’ team.

Both will use their expertise to advise clients on divorce and separation, civil partnerships, children and parenting arrangements, and injunction proceedings.

Being part of a team accredited by the Law Society and Resolution, they’ll also deliver mediation services, as well as collaborative family law.

As a result of its latest appointments, Rollits - which has offices in Hull and York - now has a team of four specialist family solicitors, as Adrian and Emma join partner, Sheridan Ball, and associate, Karen Myles.

Between them, they have 78 years of experience of handling family and matrimonial matters.

Heidi Otto, Sanderson Weatherall

Property and asset consultancy firm, Sanderson Weatherall has appointed Heidi Otto in its internationally recognised asset based lending valuation and advisory team.

Heidi brings with her 18 years of experience in the corporate recovery and business restructuring industry having spent the last 16 years at BDO.

Emma Gannon, The Marketing Centre

The Marketing Centre, a provider of proven part-time marketing directors, has appointed Emma Gannon to its growing Yorkshire team.

Emma has joined the team as a part-time marketing manager to support the existing team of marketing directors and customers they are working with.

Based near Leeds, Emma has almost 20 years of strategic marketing and management experience spanning across various sectors including automotive, manufacturing and health in both commercial and not-for-profit organisations.

Emma said: “I am so excited to join The Marketing Centre team. This role is exactly what I love – working with a diverse range of marketing professionals and businesses, using a fusion of digital and traditional marketing methods to create something fresh and new.

Peter Hague, Carter Jonas

Carter Jonas has expanded its commercial valuation team with the appointment of Peter Hague as a partner, based out of the firm’s Leeds office at Nine Bond Court.

Hague has more than 30 years of experience in the sector and joins from Hague Nicholls, where he was responsible for valuation, landlord and tenant and public sector consultancy advice.

He was previously a director at JLL in charge of its valuation advisory business in Leeds.

Robert Barker, Potter Group

Ripon-based Potter Group, which owns, develops and operates five commercial business parks across the UK, has promoted Robert Barker to property director.

Robert joined the company three years ago as property manager, bringing with him more than 25 years’ experience in asset management.

During his career he has worked for both leading commercial property agents and property owners, including an affordable housing and care organisation, where he was responsible for the management of 55,000 properties worth £3.2bn.

In his new role, he will help take the Potter Group into its next stage of growth, as it continues to develop its sites in Selby, Ripon, Knowsley, Drotwich and Ely, which collectively comprise more than 250 acres and in excess of 1.6m sq ft of commercial space.

Robert said: “Since joining the Potter Group in 2015 I have witnessed some exciting changes within the company and know of the ambitious plans for the future.

Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors

North Yorkshire based law firm, Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors has expanded its team as part of its growth plans.

Over the past two months, the company has recruited 10 new members of staff for various specialist legal work including agricultural, commercial property and employment law across four offices.

At York, Isobel Willoughby has been appointed as senior associate solicitor; Amy Mills as a solicitor; Amy Clarkson as a solicitor; Caroline Clay, Emily Croft and Jackie Smith as Paralegals.

At Malton, Clair Douglas has been appointed as associate solicitor and Charlotte Boyes as trainee solicitor. At Selby, Ben Simpson as trainee solicitor.

Rachael Nevins, Adare SEC

Adare SEC has appointed Rachael Nevins as its new chief executive officer.

Rachael, who joined the business as chief financial officer in August 2017, has been pivotal to the success of the recent transformation of Adare SEC, a provider of outbound and inbound Secure and Essential Communication Solutions.

Working in PE-backed businesses across a broad range of sectors, Rachael is a highly experienced chief financial officer and business leader.

Rachael, whose personal ethos is to make a difference to the people she works with, assumed the CEO position on September 28, taking over from predecessor, Richard Slee, after a transition period.
