Markel Tax’s specialist consultancy firm Gabelle has appointed James Lindon as director and Liam Hawkins as a consultant.

Markel Tax’s specialist consultancy firm Gabelle has made two new appointments.

The company has appointed James Lindon as director, and Liam Hawkins as a consultant.

With 15 years of experience in the design, implementation and administration of employee share plans, James joins the team from the London office of US law firm Orrick.

Liam joins Gabelle as a consultant from a boutique tax advisory firm, where he was responsible for providing share incentives and employment tax advice, working exclusively within the biotechnology and technology industries.

Thomas Dalby, director at Gabelle and head of employer solutions at Markel Tax, commented: “The addition of Liam and James to the team reflects the growing recognition in the market that employee share schemes are an essential part of a company’s remuneration structuring, having a positive role to play in companies of all sizes.”

Charlotte Tice, carwow

Online car buying platform carwow has appointed Charlotte Tice as head of media partnerships.

Charlotte joins carwow from events firm Hearst Live, where she was head of marketing & client service.

Prior to that Charlotte spent ten years at media agency Mindshare UK, where she was head of digital & publishing.

In her new role, Charlotte will be focusing on consolidating and expanding the company’s relationships with media agencies, as well as positioning the tech business as a leading producer of automotive content across all platforms.

Hasan Nergiz, director of OEM operations at carwow, commented: “We innovate at every level of our business, and Charlotte’s expertise will allow us to do so through our relationships with media agencies.”

Speaking about her new role, Charlotte added, “Brands and agencies want transparency, just like customers, and carwow stands out in offering that.

“I want to work with agencies to build great relationships and grow overall revenue as a result, to accelerate the extraordinary growth trajectory of the business.”

Sarah Watts and Emily Rickard, Lichfields

Planning consultancy Lichfields had made two new appointments to its Thames Valley team.

Senior planner Sarah Watts joins the Reading-based office from Lichfields’ London head office and planner Emily Rickard joins from Persimmon Homes.

Sarah completed an MSc in development planning before joining Lichfields in 2013, and is a member of the Lichfields consultation and engagement business development group.

She commented: “There is so much happening for Lichfields in the Thames Valley at the moment this is an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. I’m looking forward to helping build on the excellent achievements of the office to date.”

Emily joins Lichfields from Persimmon Homes, prior to which she graduated from Oxford Brookes University with an MPlan in city and regional planning.

Emily said: “I am delighted to progress my planning career with such a prestigious consultancy and very excited at the prospects that lie ahead.”

Lichfields senior director and Thames Valley office head Daniel Lampard added: “The Thames Valley office continues to develop a strong pipeline of work and an extensive portfolio of clients and we are delighted to welcome both Sarah and Emily to the growing team.”
