Tim Michie, George F. White

Land, property and business consultancy George F. White has appointed Tim Michie as partner.

Tim joined the firm as an APC Rural Graduate from the Royal Agricultural University in 2011, and has since gained specialist knowledge of the traditional rural sector as well as the political landscape and the opportunities that surround UK agriculture.

In his new role Tim will lead the rural professional team in Northumberland and the Borders as well as Land and Farm Agency across all offices and regions.

George White, founder and senior partner at the firm, commented: “The sheer hard work and determination Tim has demonstrated since joining the firm in 2011 as a graduate is phenomenal.

Kashish Kumar, Synergi

Digital transformation and cloud specialist Synergi has appointed Kashish Kumar as senior consultant.

Kashish brings with him 12 years of experience in a series of technical and consultancy roles, and is a senior certified Microsoft Professional.

His new role as senior Office 365 automation and collaboration consultant will see him involved in pre and post-sales, working alongside design, development and support colleagues to implement solutions.

Kashish commented: “Being part of a company with a strong reputation for technical expertise and close partnerships with big names in the technical world is a great opportunity to further my career.

“I’m looking forward to working alongside a high calibre team creating cloud-based solutions that improve systems and processes, boost workflow and productivity, and have a real impact on our clients’ success.”

Commenting on the appointment, Synergi’s managing director Peter Joynson added: “Kashish has a strong combination of technical and customer-facing skills, making him an ideal addition to the team.

Adam Aston and Sophie Crosby, Muckle LLP

Law firm Muckle LLP has promoted specialist Adam Aston to partner and appointed solicitor Sophie Crosby to its construction team.

Adam, who joined Muckle as a trainee in 2006, advises on a diverse range of regional, national and international construction and engineering projects, as well as regularly running legal workshops and presenting legal updates to the construction industry.

Sophie Crosby, a Northumbria University law graduate, joins the firm as a chartered legal executive and qualifies as a solicitor in September.

Formerly working for a national law firm advising on disputes, Sophie has experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts following over two years as inhouse counsel at Stanley Black & Decker.

Lucilla Waugh, partner and head of the construction and engineering team, said: “We are delighted to announce these two appointments.

“Adam is an exceptionally talented commercial lawyer, greatly valued by our clients for his can-do attitude, technical skills and client service. He has a detailed understanding of the risk profile and market positions on the wide range of construction and engineering contracts and acts for all levels of the design and construction supply chain.

“Sophie brings additional experience and perspective to our team. We make a point of recruiting people who have something different about them, whether it is sector knowledge, extra skills or a different approach to service delivery, all of which Sophie has.”

Alex Spurr and Alister Jones, Clark Willis

Law firm Clark Willis has appointed Alex Spurr and Alister Jones as partners to head up the Private Client and Property teams respectively

The pair have 28 years of combined legal experience and studied together at law school, and have stayed within the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire areas throughout their careers.

Alister commented: “We are excited about the opportunities that developing and driving forward Clark Willis will bring. Alex and I have supported each other through our legal careers, from studying to becoming partners in this firm, and it’s significant to take this next step with a close friend.”

Alex said: “I’m looking forward to becoming more involved in the community in addition to my existing charitable work with Darlington Bondgate Round Table and Santa’s sleigh.

“My focus is to bring even greater technical expertise to the Private Client side of the business, allowing us to provide legal assistance to a broader range of people from our offices in Darlington and Catterick.”

Commenting on the appointments, partner Tanya Bloomfield added: “The experience that both Alister and Alex bring will be invaluable to not only increasing and improving the services we offer, but in showcasing the firm, our team, and importantly the communities around all of our offices.”
