Lancaster University students grasp opportunity with financial giants
Five Lancaster University students will spend a year at the top of the business world thanks to a new partnership with Fitch Ratings.
The global credit rating agency – one of the ‘big three’ agencies in the US – has pledged to support the five Fitch Scholars as part of a new partnership with Lancaster University Management School.
The first group of scholars – Darcy McCay, Tori Mittens, Federico Di Marzio, Rory Rushton, and Chris Ginty – will spend 12 months with the company.
The scholarships aim to promote excellence in the study of accounting and finance, and support students in preparing for a career in finance as they learn more about the firm’s work.
Andy Jackson, Chief Human Resources Officer at Fitch Group, said: “We are very pleased to welcome the first cohort of Fitch Scholars from Lancaster.
“Developing the next generation of financial talent is an important priority for Fitch, and we wish the scholars a successful 12 months with us.”
Juliet Huntington, Lancaster University Management School Placements and Internships Manager, said: “We know that the Fitch Scholars will have a very rewarding and challenging year, and we wish them well with this new undertaking.”
