Power engineering firm expands into new Sunderland base
A firm specialising in power engineering for energy networks has moved into a new home in Sunderland after outgrowing its former base.
Morson Projects has moved from its old office in Jarrow to Washington Business Centre following a period of growth.
Specialising in multi-disciplined engineering, project management and design services in the power, process, nuclear, general engineering, and aerospace industries, the firm works with brands such as National Grid, Scottish Power, Northern Power Grid, Siemens and General Electric.
The firm’s Sunderland office focuses solely on electrical design, while its other offices in Leeds and Manchester incorporate both design and manufacture of control and protection equipment for electrical substations.
Cllr Graeme Miller, leader of Sunderland City Council, commented: “Sunderland is growing its highly skilled workforce with companies like Morson Projects choosing to locate here.
“Innovative companies are key to the city’s growth. Our aim is to build a knowledge economy eco-system, in which businesses can find innovative solutions and benefit from cross fertilising opportunities across all sectors.”
“Morson Projects is serving a blue-chip UK wide customer base from Washington Business Centre. That’s great news for the company and the city.”
