Karen Goldfinch and Andrew Esson, North Tyneside Business Forum

North Tyneside Business Forum has appointed Karen Goldfinch as chair and Andrew Esson as vice chair.

Karen, who has already served as vice chair for three years, has been a member of the management committee since the forum was founded a decade ago. Her experience in retail spans 35 years, having owned retail outlets Whitley Bay.

Karen currently owns two businesses, bespoke wedding stationery and events management firm Made to Treasure Events and business consultancy Your Business Pilot.

Karen commented: “I’m delighted to have been appointed into this role, especially in the year that the forum celebrates its tenth anniversary.

“I’ve seen many positive changes in the last ten years and with the support of the management group I have a strong vision for the future of the Forum and the businesses it represents.”

A chartered engineer, Andrew Esson owns Esson Partnership, which offers non-executive, advisory and consultancy services with a focus on business transformation and operational improvement. He is also a Scale up Partner within the Scale up North East programme, as well as chair of the Make UK NE Regional advisory board.

Commenting on Andrew’s appointment, Karen added: “I’m especially delighted that Andrew Esson has been appointed to the role of vice chair.

“His wealth of experience and connections within the manufacturing industry and beyond will be invaluable for the Forum and I am looking forward to working with him and the membership and connecting businesses large and small through projects, events and networking.

Zoe Wilson, SRS - Recruitment and Employability Experts

SRS - Recruitment and Employability Experts has appointed Zoe Wilson as marketing coordinator.

Zoe graduated from Newcastle University in 2018 with a degree in English Language and Literature.

In her new role Zoe will deliver the SRS marketing strategy and help promote the brand through a variety of channels. Zoe joins as SRS launches its graduate employability online services for employers and universities.

Commenting on her appointment, Zoe said: “I’m incredibly excited and proud to join team SRS.

“In this role, I look forward to helping communicate all that SRS can offer and learning more about the industry from the wealth of experience that the rest of the team has.

“I hope to support students to successfully bridge the gap between university and the world of work”.

Sophie Milliken, managing director at SRS, added: “It’s great to have Zoe join the SRS team, her enthusiasm for our brand and student success was evident from the start. We look forward to seeing her develop in her new role.”

Emma Liddle, Mincoffs Solicitors

Mincoffs Solicitors has promoted Emma Little to department head of the residential conveyancing team.

Emma, a fellow of the Chartered Legal Executives, takes over the role with almost 20 years conveyancing experience.

First joining Mincoffs in 2013, Emma was promoted to assistant manager of the residential conveyancing team in 2016.

Emma will be taking over the position from Una Coulson, who retires following a 40-year career at the firm.

Emma commented: “I am thrilled to be taking over from Una and heading up the residential conveyancing team at Mincoffs.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with the wider management team to continue to grow and develop the Residential Conveyancing offering at the firm and I want to build on the success that Una has had over her time at the firm. “

Paul Hughes, senior partner at Mincoffs, added: “We are all sad to see Una retire but we have full confidence that Emma will be a brilliant replacement to head up the Residential Conveyancing department.

“She has continuously proven herself in her role as assistant manager and we wish her the best of luck in her role as department head.”

Aidan Baker, John Peart and Adam Harley, BNP Paribas Real Estate

BNP Paribas Real Estate has made three senior appointments at its Newcastle office.

Aidan Baker has been promoted to senior director within the commercial markets team, John Peart has been promoted to director within lease advisory and Adam Harley has been promoted to director within the valuation team.

Aidan joined the business in 2003 and is responsible for the acquisition and disposal of office and industrial accommodation across the North East.

John has been a key part of the lease advisory team since 2010, his sector knowledge covers the full range of commercial property types including industrial warehousing, high street/out of town retail and offices.

Adam is responsible for a wide range of valuation led instructions, providing advice for secured lending, strategic estates advice and portfolio valuations for public sector clients.

David Furniss, head of BNP Paribas Real Estate’s Newcastle office, commented: “Developing and enabling colleagues to progress ensures we continue to lead the industry and offer the best service to our clients.

“Congratulations to all those promoted, I wish them further success in the future.”

Jimmy Warnett, Mitsubishi Tees Valley

Mitsubishi Tees Valley has appointed Jimmy Warnett as sales executive.

Former footballer Jimmy, who played alongside the likes of Ben Gibson, Dael Fry and current Rangers player Jordon Jones in youth and reserve team games for Middlesbrough, had his professional career cut short aged 21 through injury.

Jimmy has previous experience working in auto sales, having been given his first car sales role by Mitsubishi Tees Valley manager Jimmy Milner at another dealership five years ago.

Commenting on his appointment, Jimmy Warnett said: “I’m really excited to be working for Mitsubishi Tees Valley and looking forward to getting some results for them.

“Mitsubishi is a recognised brand with a loyal customer base, and I know the guys at the dealership have already done a great job in growing that base over the years.

“Hopefully I can add to that and start bringing new custom in for them as well as maintaining existing customers.”

Manager Jimmy Milner added: “I’ve worked with Jimmy before – he’s a hard worker, has great people skills and the customers love him.

“At Mitsubishi Tees Valley, we have our regular customers and it’s a nice atmosphere, so Jimmy will slot into the business perfectly.”
