Career progression startup closes six-figure seed round to fund expansion
A startup specialising in career progression support has secured six-figure funding through its latest investment round.
Mentoring platform PushFar has raised £250k in a seed round which saw participation from a range of angel investors.
Founded by Ed Johnson and Gabriel Sirbu, PushFar specialises in supporting career progression through features such as mentor matching, mentor relationship management and mentor reporting.
In addition, the platform offers personalised professional event recommendations, job listings and networking opportunities to its users.
In its first 12 months, the platform attracted more than 18,000 users and secured partnerships with companies including Arbuthnot Latham, Itsu, Queen Mary University, the University of East London, the Professional Women’s Network and WaterAid.
The startup plans to use the new investment to expand its workforce as well as enhance its existing proposition.
Ed Johnson, PushFar CEO and co-founder, commented: “We’ve been astounded by the responses we’ve gathered from the platform.
“While it was borne from my own experiences of not being able to find a mentor, it wasn’t until Gabriel and I started talking to people and companies that we realised just how pervasive the problem was across all businesses.”
CTO and co-founder Gabriel Sirbu added: “ This seed round gives us the ability to bring in four new hires to the team and really push our sales and marketing outreach so we can expand into more sectors and territories.
“It’s exciting to see how the platform will grow in the next one, two and three years, as we see rules around employment and careers constantly evolve.”
