Jamie Corbett, RWO

Engineering specialist RWO has appointed Jamie Corbett as director of structures at the firm’s Leeds office.

A member of the Institution of Structural Engineers and an advocate of BIM (Building Information Modelling) Jamie brings almost 20 years of experience as a consultant structural engineer to the role.

In his new role, Jamie will be responsible for multi-million infrastructure schemes and construction projects for Vantec Europe and Amazon among other companies.

Gareth Marland, Clarion

Law firm Clarion has appointed Gareth Marland as legal director.

With experience of handling matters for wealthy individuals, including inheritance tax planning, trusts and wills, Gareth spent over 12 years in the private client team at a Harrogate law firm where he developed specialisms in advising farming clients and business owners.

Gareth is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and Solicitors for the Elderly, Gareth’s experience includes advising on a wide range of matters such as making wills; inheritance tax; setting up trusts; probate; succession planning for business and farm owners; and powers of attorney.

Gareth has also been ranked as an ‘up and coming’ private wealth lawyer in the 2020 Chambers and Partners High Net Worth guide.

Thomas Taylor, LCF Law

LCF Law has appointed solicitor Thomas Taylor to its commercial contracts and intellectual property team.

Thomas joins from another Leeds-based commercial law firm, where he worked for four and a half years. Qualifying as a solicitor in 2017, Thomas is experienced at handling complex and technical commercial disputes on behalf of large UK and international based clients.

Partner and head of the corporate department at LCF Law, Susan Clark, said: “Thomas is an ambitious solicitor who is keen to expand his expertise in commercial contract work.

“With sound technical knowledge and an analytical approach, together with his experience of dealing with disputes where commercial arrangements have gone wrong, Thomas will be a great addition to our existing team.”

James Nelson, MET Marketing

Digital and marketing recruitment consultancy MET Marketing has appointed James Nelson as head of agency.

James Nelson has joined MET to head up the agency division across both Yorkshire and the North West.

James brings nearly 10 years of experience having worked in marketing recruitment for Michael Page, Network Marketing and Sphere. He has a range of sector knowledge and has launched divisions and teams throughout his career.
