Liam Davis, Get Your Media

Content creation agency Get Your Media has appointed Liam Davis as editor.

Liam joins the firm from Leeds City College, where he held the role of technician in the creative arts department.

In his new role Liam will assist on client video production shoots, preparing and setting-up equipment and script supervision. He will also be responsible for editing client’s corporate content and managing director Josh Gudgeon’s personal YouTube channel.

Managing director Josh, commented: “Liam’s appointment is a positive move for the business. More and more brands are investing in creative, quality video and podcast content that cuts through and delivers results.

“We needed a talented individual to support our growth. Liam’s skills perfectly complement the wider teams and I’m excited to be working with him.”

Emily Batty and Jake Tilby-Baxter, JudgeService Research Ltd

Data insight firm JudgeService Research Ltd has made two new appointments to its team. . Emily Batty joins the firm as social media marketing and membership manager for market research offshoot YourPoll, while Jake Tilby-Baxter has been appointed as web developer.

Emily, who began her career in film and the creative industries, has previous marketing experience working within a motor group.

Emily explained: “I’ve been really enjoying seeing JudgeService from the other side of the coin and getting to know all the friendly team.

“The work is fast paced and the business has a really open culture so I’m really excited to see where the role and the business will take me.”

Jake embarked on a career change by retraining as a web developer, after working as a lift maintenance and repair engineer.

Lucy Trynka, Rollits LLP

Law firm Rollits LLP has appointed Lucy Trynka as solicitor in its employment team. . Lucy, who joined Rollits in September 2018, has now completed her Period of Recognised Training, working across the firm’s departments.

A former student at Hymers College in Hull, Lucy gained her LLB Hons at Newcastle University in 2017 and then completed a one-year Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Leeds, which she passed with Distinction.

Lucy commented: “ As a trainee solicitor I have really enjoyed the challenge of working across the many different areas of law and adapting to the differing needs of each discipline but I’m looking forward very much to concentrating on the specialist work of a single department and putting my experience into practice.“

Ralph Gilbert, managing partner at Rollits, added: “Lucy has made excellent progress during her two years as a trainee and we are delighted that her achievements have led to this appointment.

“Lucy becomes the sixth member of our employment team and we are confident she will make an important contribution at a time when the department’s workload is expanding.”

Sophia Bell, Harrowells

Law firm Harrowells has appointed Sophia Bell as solicitor.

Sophia who gained a first class degree in Law and Management at University of Leeds and a distinction on the Legal Practice Course at University of Law.

She joins from the company’s Leeds office of a national law firm where she trained and chose to specialise in corporate work.

Her specialisms include mergers and acquisitions; management buy outs, joint ventures and shareholder issues, legal restructuring of businesses and general commercial work, including contracts and terms of business, as well as agricultural advice with a corporate or commercial aspect.

Sophia commented: “I’m thrilled to join Harrowells and the chance to work with a wide range of clients in diverse sectors throughout North and East Yorkshire and to be part of a team with an excellent local reputation for its expertise, service and commitment to staff development.”

Laura Kirk, Insight with Passion (IWP)

Business transformation agency Insight with Passion (IWP) has appointed Laura Kirk as consultant.

Laura brings 15 years of experience in senior management and marketing roles in tourism, hospitality and leisure to the role.

Her most recent position was head of membership for Welcome to Yorkshire, where she was responsible for managing relationships with hundreds of member businesses across the county and delivering large scale events and campaigns to promote the region.

IWP founder, Kate Hardcastle MBE, commented: “Laura joins us at an exciting time of growth and brings with her a wealth of experience across a number of key sectors.

“Her focus on positive partnerships is absolutely key for driving even greater success in 2020 and beyond.”

Matthew Fraser, Faith PR

Brighouse-based communications agency Faith PR has appointed Matthew Fraser as digital PR account manager.

With five years’ industry experience and a public relations degree, Matthew has previously held roles at agencies across Yorkshire and Manchester, including Jaywing PR, Fox Agency and Grayling.

Matthew has experience across digital PR, earned media, and SEO from both digital and traditional PR roles, having worked on a range of national and regional accounts including ScS, The Car People, Marks & Spencer and Total UK.

Matthew commented: “I can’t wait to get stuck into my new role at Faith PR. Joining the agency at this exciting time as it looks to further expand its digital offering is a fantastic opportunity and I’m looking forward to getting to know our clients, helping to tell their stories and get their brands out there.”
