Vegan business community partners with Crowdfunder to launch investment initiative
An online business community for vegan entrepreneurs has partnered with one of the UK’s largest crowdfunding platforms to support plant-based business growth.
Vegan Business Tribe has partnered with equity platform Crowdfunder to launch its new initiative Vegan Start-up Scale-up.
Co-founded by David Pannell and Lisa Fox, Vegan Business Tribe is a community for plant-based business leaders and entrepreneurs across the UK to connect and share ideas and advice.
The Vegan Start-up Scale-up project aims to bring together plant-powered organisations all in one place to combine their collective fundraising power.
David Pannell, co-founder of Vegan Business Tribe, commented: “Our collaboration with Crowdfunder means that businesses can leverage the swell of support from the vegan community.
“By working together, we can support innovative organisations that fill gaps in the plant-based market with new products and services – helping to create a greener, kinder and more vegan world.
“Crowdfunders are an excellent way for start-ups to raise cash. However, running a successful campaign can be difficult. On average only one in 20 people who visit a crowdfunding page invest, and the average donation amount is £50.
“Therefore, to raise £3,000, businesses would need to generate approximately 1,200 visits to their page. By pooling our efforts through Vegan Start-up Scale-up, we create an economy of scale, boosting our fundraising power.”
