Kate Hindhaugh, Newcastle Rugby Limited

Newcastle Rugby Limited has appointed Kate Hindhaugh as communications director.

Kate brings with her a decade of experience in PR, marketing and events management across a range of industries including hospitality and leisure, construction, pharmaceuticals and fashion.

In her new role she will be responsible for developing and implementing the communications and marketing strategy for Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle Thunder, as well as supporting the club’s hospitality function, following renewed demand for conferencing and events at Kingston Park.

Semore Kurdi, CEO of Newcastle Rugby Limited, commented: “As we start to gear up for the new 2021-22 season, we’re keen to diversify our offering to ensure we’re appealing to a broad range of visitors and Kate’s appointment is a key part of that.

“In addition to the match day fixtures, and the available hospitality and sponsorship packages we have available, we also have some exciting plans for our event offering at the stadium.

“Kate’s appointment will allow us to continue to ensure we’re putting customer experience first, as well as proactively communicate the breadth of what we have going on at the stadium. We’re pleased to welcome her on board.”

Kate added: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at Kingston Park. I’m looking forward to working with the team to build on the strong foundations they already have in place and to further increase brand visibility and ultimately footfall.

“There’s a lot of activity planned at the stadium over the next year. By improving our digital presence for our customers and sponsors, as well as maintaining our offline communications, we hope to make the club, our fixtures and its events as accessible as possible to people of all ages and backgrounds.”

Wealth management firm Laidler Wealth has appointed Emma Purvis as financial planner.

With more than 13 years’ experience in the financial sector, the firm’s compliance and operations manager Emma has now made the move to a financial planner role having completed a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Emma commented: “I am delighted to announce that I am making the leap from operations & compliance manager to financial planner. After almost 13 years of working ‘behind the scenes’ in compliance and paraplanning roles, I now have the knowledge, experience and professional qualification to confidently assist our clients in meeting their objectives.

“Not only are Robson Laidler Wealth passionate about helping clients to plan and achieve their financial goals, but are also passionate about helping staff to develop and achieve their own goals - and I’ve done just that.

“I’m looking forward to building some great relationships and I’m proud to be working with a team who put their clients at the core of their service.”

Robson Laidler Wealth has also appointed Lydia Sutton and Jennifer Gilroy as new administrators, who will work in supporting both advisers and clients, bringing the team’s total headcount to seven.

Eric Way, Head Quarters

Barber concept Head Quarters has appointed Eric Way as brand ambassador and artistic manager.

A celebrity barber and fashion designer who has dressed Shirley Bassey, Ivana Trump and cast members from Sex and the City, Eric was mentored by Jimmy Choo.

Eric’s day-to-day role will involve identifying key trends and developing training which can then be rolled out to barbers, as well as creating an external education facility to train barbers from elsewhere. He will also be responsible for catapulting the brand forward via internationally renowned shows and events.

Head Quarters managing director, Richard Bland, commented: “It’s a real honour to have Eric on board. His exceptional eye for detail, style and trends will help us to continue shaping Head Quarters into the brand we wish for it to be.

“Eric will enable us to truly showcase ourselves and also formalise our offering across multiple venues which stands us in good stead for our future growth plans.”
